Terms & Conditions

The terms for repairs and orders with Eurton Electric, and the terms that apply to purchase orders we place with suppliers.

For customers

These terms apply to repairs, rewinds and parts orders. Parts store purchases also follow the policies shown at checkout in the parts store.

Quotes and estimates

Phone and email quotes are estimates. We confirm a firm price once we’ve inspected your item in our shop. Listed prices are a guide; if you want a limit, note “call if over $___” on your order and we’ll check with you before going over it.

Estimate fees

Estimates are free for most components and small motors. Large or complex jobs may need an estimating or tooling fee, which we’ll ask you to approve first. If you decline an estimate, your item is returned disassembled; reassembly is available for a labor charge.

Payment

Payment is by credit card, or we can ship C.O.D. Orders placed on the website are credit card only. Net 30-day accounts are available with an approved credit application, sent to us by email, phone, fax or mail.

Turnaround

Regular service is about 7–10 business days, depending on shop workload. Overtime (about 4–5 business days) and super overtime (about 2–3 business days) are available at additional cost.

Shipping and insurance

Orders ship F.O.B. our plant by UPS Ground unless you ask for another carrier or service. We insure return shipments for twice the repair cost, and that amount is the only basis for any claim; if your item is worth more, ask us to add coverage before it ships. Please insure items you send to us for their full value; we are not responsible for items lost or damaged on the way to our shop.

Returns

Returned products carry a restocking fee of 15% of the product price or $10, whichever is greater.

Cancellations

You can cancel an order at any point, but completed work must be paid for. Cancelling before work starts can still involve charges, such as disassembly and reassembly for an estimate.

Items left on hold

Estimated repair or rewind orders left on hold for 90 days with no communication or payment may be considered abandoned and disposed of.

Beyond repair

Occasionally a motor or component can’t be repaired or rewound. If that happens we’ll tell you before taking any action and wait for your instructions.

Warranty

Rebuild and repair work on motors and motor components carries a 90-day warranty against defects in material or workmanship. See the full warranty, including how to make a claim.

Purchase order terms for suppliers

These terms apply to every purchase order Eurton Electric issues to vendors and suppliers.

  1. Eurton Electric has final approval of products, procedures, processes and equipment.
  2. All special processes required by the purchase order (PO) must be performed by qualified personnel.
  3. Eurton Electric may review and approve the vendor’s Quality Management System (QMS). Standard QMS requirements:
    1. Vendors providing special processing must maintain a system for validating those processes.
    2. Customer-directed sources must follow the approved specifications and standards set and controlled by the customer.
    3. Suppliers approved through certification (such as ISO, AS9100, ISO 17025 or AS9120) must notify Eurton Electric of any change to that certification.
  4. The vendor must maintain the correct identification and revision status of specifications, drawings, process requirements, inspection or verification instructions and other relevant technical data.
  5. Eurton Electric may approve or specify designs, tests, inspection plans, verification, statistical techniques for product acceptance and any applicable critical items, including key characteristics.
  6. Eurton Electric may set requirements for test specimens used for design approval, inspection or verification, investigation or auditing.
  7. The vendor must:
    1. Notify Eurton Electric of nonconforming product.
    2. Obtain Eurton Electric’s approval before disposing of nonconforming product.
    3. Notify Eurton Electric of changes to product or process, changes of suppliers and changes of manufacturing facility location.
    4. Pass applicable requirements, including customer requirements, down to its supply chain.
  8. Product must be supplied with at least 75% of its original shelf life remaining on the date of shipment.
  9. The vendor must keep all records associated with the PO for seven (7) years, or longer if the contract requires it.
  10. Eurton Electric, its customers and regulatory authorities have the right of access to the applicable areas of all facilities, at any level of the supply chain, involved in the order and to all applicable records.
  11. Vendors providing calibration services must be ISO 17025 certified or equivalent. Calibration certificates must identify the standards used and be traceable to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology).
  12. The seller must provide a proper Bill of Lading signed by the carrier, or other legally applicable documents transferring title of the goods to the purchaser on delivery, so all parties are protected in case of damage in transit. Costs resulting from improper packing are the seller’s responsibility.
  13. Certification of the materials or processes performed must accompany the materials or parts received. Invoices are aged for payment from the date the certifications are received.
  14. FAR clauses 52.246-2 and 52.203-7 apply.
  15. Any dispute arising under a contract subject to these terms is governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of California, USA.
  16. Where applicable, the vendor must comply with the federal DPAS (Defense Priorities and Allocations System) priority rating shown on the PO: DX (highest national defense urgency) or DO (critical to national defense).
  17. Export, import and ITAR compliance. Information the seller receives under a purchase contract may be subject to U.S. export laws and regulations. It may not be exported or re-exported to foreign persons, including those employed by, associated with or under contract to the seller or its lower-tier suppliers, without prior written consent and proper export license or exemption authority. If data is marked as export-controlled, the seller must indemnify and hold the buyer harmless against claims, liabilities and expenses resulting from the seller’s failure to comply with U.S. export laws.
